Flexel's new premises aid expansion plans
Flexel (UK) Limited has relocated to new premises, following the completion of their specially built headquarters in Brackley, with funding from Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank
Established in 1987, Flexel (UK) Limited supplies a range of wheelchair spares and a unique tyre infill system to the trade, and has grown steadily over the last 20 years into a thriving family business.
Flexel's success meant they had outgrown their rented premises, also in Brackley, with no room available to meet their expansion plans, or for additional storage facilities.
In addition, the lease was due to expire as the site had been sold on for redevelopment.
Sue Bridge, Finance Director of Flexel said: "We started the search for premises locally, as we didn't want to move away from the area and wanted to make the transition as easy as possible for our existing staff, who all live nearby".
"Following a long search we couldn't find anywhere suitable and fortunately managed to gain an extra year on our existing lease while we continued to look." In September 2005, a plot became available on Top Station Road, on the site where the business originally started 20 years ago and an architect was brought in to design the perfect premises for Flexel to expand and develop.
Sue continues: "We appointed a project manager, which was expensive but helped to keep the project moving and on time".
"Despite problems getting electricity and water connected to the new site, we managed to move in only two weeks after we had originally planned and are now firmly established in our new home." Flexel's new premises offer them the space to expand and the specially designed facilities will further improve the service they offer and volumes they can deliver.
With a larger warehouse and packing bay, the business has increased efficiency and orders are growing rapidly.
In addition, the new office space has dedicated sales and accounts teams and a new phone system to manage the increasing call volumes.
Stephen Malcolm, Senior Relationship Manager at Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank's East Midlands Business Centre said: "Flexel's new premises offer them a great opportunity to drive the business forward".
"Sue and the team are dedicated to offering quality and service and now have the tools they need to expand the business and really fulfil its potential".
"The team at Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank put together a bespoke package tailored to the needs of the business and worked closely with Sue to offer the flexibility she needed as the building project moved forward." With business booming and orders flooding in Flexel's new premises will provide the foundations for their expansion plans and ensure the ongoing success of the business.
