Major investment at Grosvenor

Grosvenor, a leading specialist in the recycling and recovery of recyclable materials, has announced a major investment in a third 80,000 tonne production line at their head office site in Kent.

In total, a further £1.5 million investment has financed advanced equipment for its Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), with the investment funded by Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank.

The pioneering facility separates co-mingled recyclables, including glass, into high quality card, paper, glass and plastic film, aluminium and steel can grades using tried and tested technology together with new technology sourced from around the world.

Commenting on the investment, Director of Recycling Development at Grosvenor, Mary Corin said: "The investment we are making in the new facility ensures that Grosvenor is able to continue to offer much needed processing capacity and the highest possible level of service to our customers.

The support we have received from Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank has allowed us to provide cutting edge processing facilities for the UK, to help achieve the country's statutory recycling targets." Established in 1999, Grosvenor, with its Head Office in Crayford, Kent and further facilities in Wolverhampton and Peterborough, provide vital infrastructure facilities to divert as much recyclable material as possible away from landfill and into manufacturers.

The business is committed to achieving the highest possible standard of environmental management and aims to recycle and recover over 98% of the materials collected from households and industrial and commercial organisations, through an ever expanding worldwide customer base.

Grosvenor provide a cost effective and efficient collection and processing service and is continually making new investments to maintain plant and operational systems to the very highest standards in order to achieve recycling, at a cost that both government and industry can afford.

Procedures at Grosvenor's Crayford site are accredited to BSI Standard ISO 14001, 18001 and 9001, with the site now diverting more than 400,000 tonnes of recyclable material away from landfill each year.
