New hoteliers, Steve and Angela Vernon, have taken the reins at the Brooklands Lodge in Sale, following a six-figure deal with funding from Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank.

Steve is no stranger to the hotel business, having grown up helping to run his family's guest house business in Lytham St Annes.

Following their investment in Brooklands Lodge, Steve and Angela intend to build on the hotel's success, maximising its potential.

Steve Vernon, Proprietor of Brooklands Lodge said: "Having spent the last twenty years in the IT industry and living out of a suitcase, I believe that I am well qualified and understand what it takes to make a hotel a success.

Angela and I are thrilled to own and manage our own hotel and are looking forward to building the business together.

Brooklands Lodge is an established hotel, in a good location, close to the MetroLink, City Centre and a range of local amenities.

We intend to build on the hotel's reputation and have refurbished the guest bedrooms and reception areas to create an inviting, modern hotel in keeping with the building's charm and character."Mike Ricketts, Relationship Manager at Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank's Manchester Business Centre said: "Brooklands is a strong, established business and a great investment.

The deal provides a fantastic opportunity for Steve and Angela to run their own hotel and invest in their future, and we are delighted to have been able to make their dream a reality."The unique building was built in 1851 for a local surgeon and was one of the first residential houses in Sale.

The building was converted into a hotel in 1982 by the previous owners, who have now retired. The hotel boasts eight well-equipped, comfortable, en-suite bedrooms and has a 4 Diamond AA rating, with listings in 'Which? Magazine's Good B and B Guide.

Steve and Angela have already made their mark on the hotel and having launched a new website, are now offering guests enhanced services such as, wireless Internet access and conferencing facilities.

The new hoteliers are committed making the most of their new venture and will continue to develop the business as they take Brooklands Lodge forward into the next chapter of the hotel's history.

Mike Ricketts continues: "Steve and Angela's experience and drive will help to develop the business, maximising the hotel's potential and creating new opportunities for growth.

I would like to wish them both every success with Brooklands and I look forward to providing them with ongoing support as the business continues to evolve.".
