Gardening specialists in full bloom following management buy out deal
Two Wests and Elliott Limited, based in Chesterfield has announced a management buy out deal worth £600,000, with funding from Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank's South Yorkshire Business Centre.
The new owner Peter Bennett has teamed up with the company's marketing manager Lucie Bradley to buy the business in conjunction with the Coldfield Investment Fund.
Peter has worked for the company for nearly 30 years, working his way up through the business, becoming General Manager when the business was sold to Bradshaws Direct in 2000.
Peter Bennett, the new Managing Director of Two Wests and Elliott Limited said: "The business has a real family atmosphere and it's great to be investing in its future.
It has developed significantly over the years, as we've built a strong reputation for quality and service, expanding our range and providing bespoke gardening products and greenhouses.
I have grown up in this business, and I'm looking forward to working with Lucie and the team to build on our success." Two Wests and Elliott currently employs 16 staff and will be looking to increase that figure as the business continues to grow.Andy Cocker, Head of Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank's South Yorkshire Business Centre said: "Peter's knowledge of the business and the gardening industry, combined with Lucie's marketing experience will reap rewards for Two Wests and Elliott, ensuring the continued success of the business for many years to come." The deal was introduced to Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank by P and A Lender Services, lead advisors on the deal were Hart Shaw Accountants and Keeble Hawson solicitors in Sheffield acted for the Bank.Hart Shaw accountant Mark Sims said: "We have been delighted to act as lead advisors to Peter and Lucie in this MBO to sow the seeds of further success for this established local company." The new owners have also followed in the footsteps of the previous owners by having Peter's dog as an honorary director.
The tradition started when the company was first formed in 1975 and one of the original partners, Mr Elliott left the business.
When customers still asked for Mr Elliott long after he had left, the owner's dog who was also called Elliott became the company mascot.
Peter's dog, Ellie has continued in that role and even offers tips on the company's website.
