Allianz: Help to protect your festival-going customers
As this year's festival season moves into full swing music fans are busy packing their rucksacks, often without thinking about the value of the items inside.
Allianz Schemes is keen to remind retailers of the benefits of offering specialist insurance to their festival-going customers: Musical instrument insurance - many festival-goers mistakenly assume that their guitar or other instrument will be covered by their household insurance.
But this is rarely the case.
Music retailers can ensure their customers are protected from the moment they make their purchase by providing them with specialist insurance; Jewellery insurance - an item of jewellery can often carry great sentimental value so to lose it can be devastating.
Whilst jewellers can't compensate for the emotional impact of such a loss they can at least provide their customers with insurance so they can buy a replacement; 'Gadget' insurance - according to the latest British Crime Survey around 800,000 people a year are victims of a mobile phone theft.
By offering insurance cover, technology retailers can help to protect their customers against festival pickpockets; Identity fraud insurance - credit cards and driving licences are perfect material for a thief to steal a person's identity so it makes good sense to offer customers protection against what has become one of Britain's fastest growing crimes.
Andrew Cackett, strategic marketing manager for Allianz Schemes said: "Retailers can show their customers that they understand their wider needs by offering them appropriate insurance at point of sale - whilst also generating a useful extra income."02 July 2007.
