American Express increases travel cover
Responding to reports that credit card companies have increased travel cover1, American Express can confirm that in April 2006 it broadened the travel services offered on its Platinum Charge Card.
The Card, used by business and leisure travellers, provides comprehensive travel insurance estimated to be worth more than GBP400.
This covers up to 20 people; the card member, their partner, children aged up to 25, up to four Supplementary card members, their partners and plus any grandchildren travelling with card members.
The travel insurance cover includes: medical coverage up to GBP2 million including winter sports cover and most adventure sports; gap year insurance for children; no excess charges; travel inconvenience coverage up to GBP750 per person; lost and stolen baggage cover up to GBP2,000 per person; personal accident cover up to GBP50,000; trip cancellation of up to GBP7,500 per person; personal liability of up to GBP1 million; worldwide car rental cover up to GBP50,000; cover for cutting short your trip up to GBP7500 and Legal Assistance compensation up to GBP1 million plus legal defence and pursuit cover.
The Platinum Charge Card also offers unlimited access to more than 500 airport lounges worldwide, worth GBP259 per person per year, for the Cardmember and their partner plus a suite of travel privileges including hotel upgrades, complimentary flights, and special offers at thousands of hotel and airline partners.
The Platinum Charge Card has an annual fee of GBP300 and remains the world's best Platinum Card offering a range of benefits and services from a dedicated team of experienced professionals.
