What's the future of London?

Online Blog fires up debate

Survey reveals how Londoners really feel Discover the future for dating, music and relationships from experts This week sees the launch of the WTF Collective, an exciting new think-tank presenting expert views and inviting public debate about the future of London The WTF (What's The Future) Collective will be urging Londoners to join the debate on six different themes of fashion, music, spare time, minds and bodies, creativity and relationships by logging onto www.wtfcollective.com and posting their views

The site includes a blog written by an eclectic mix of contemporary Londoners - ranging from artists to fashion designers, bar tenders to drag queens - as well as details of a survey conducted by YouGov* about what Londoners really think about the future of London and how they see themselves and their city in the future.

Over the next six weeks, 30 different bloggers will be writing interesting features on the different themes concerning the future on the WTF blog (www.wtfcollective.com).

The blog will include features such as how to create the new season's wardrobe by recycling the last season's; what the London skyline will look like in 50 years' time; what cocktails Londoners will be drinking in the future, what music they will be listening to, and how they'll be meeting their partners.

It is sponsored by Barclaycard OnePulse, the unique card which combines Oyster, credit and cashless facilities.

During the next six weeks, a number of events will be taking place around the capital including a night with infamous drag artist Johnny Woo, who will be holding court in the back of a London cab and sharing his views on the future of clubbing; a fashion show using only recycled materials; and cocktail making lessons from one of London's leading bartenders who will teach Londoners how to make the cocktail of the future.

The blog will be backed up by the survey results which illustrate what Londoners think of London now and how they see the future of the city.

The survey reveals what Londoners would like to do to improve the city in which they live, including the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street, the introduction of more affordable housing and safer streets.

The survey revealed that over 70% of Londoners were generally quite happy with the quality of transport within London, however a third thought that the overall cleanliness of the city was poor.

The full details of the survey will be debated over the course of the next six weeks.

Barclaycard OnePulse, the card sponsoring the blog, is the card of the future and will help Londoners enjoy a more convenient lifestyle.

By offering Oyster, credit and cashless facilities, Barclaycard OnePulse gives Londoners the ability to buy everyday essentials such as coffee, a paper or Oyster travel as well as larger purchases such as a holiday abroad on one card rather than three.

Elizabeth Chambers, Barclaycard's Chief Marketing Officer, says: "The 'What's The Future' forum really fits together with the forward thinking ethos of the new Barclaycard OnePulse card".

"The partnership with the WTF Collective gives us a chance to talk with real Londoners about their views of the future of London and to find out where they see themselves in ten years' time".
