A Student Barclaycard offers a competitive APR of 14.9%, a manageable credit limit of up to £600 and up to 56 days interest free credit.

Student Barclaycards also have no over-limit fee and free text payment reminders to help students stay in control of their finances.

Barclays will be encouraging students to protect their belongings whilst at university with Barclays Student Possessions Insurance providing cover from as little as £2 a month.

This includes as standard cover for contents when removed from the term time residence and when in transit to or from university with a 24/7 claims line and new for old replacement.

Barclays also offers financial support to graduates in their first three years after leaving university with its comprehensive graduate package.

With a choice of accounts the package can offer an interest-free overdraft of up to £3,000, mobile phone insurance and roadside assistance as part of the Graduate Additions account for £5 a month or the standard free Graduate Account which offers an interest-free overdraft up to £1,500, as well as a competitively priced Graduate Barclaycard.

Graduate Loan and Career Development Loans are also available.

All student and graduate customers have access to dedicated relationship managers to provide advice and support and all Barclays customers can manage their accounts via telephone banking, 24/7 online banking and Barclays new mobile phone banking service.

Customers can also top up their mobile at any Barclays ATM for free.

Andrew Harris, Head of Current Accounts at Barclays, said: "We understand that being a student can be financially demanding and that there are many other things students want to be doing rather than worrying about their finances".

"Barclays is therefore offering a straightforward way to take the hassle out of managing money with a comprehensive package and financial support to enable students to make the most of university life." For more information go to www.barclays.co.uk/students.
