BUPA today announces the appointment of the care home manager for Heathbrook House Nursing Home - a major new project for older people in Bromsgrove.

Laura Williams, a nursing care professional for over 20 years, will take up the post in the two-storey home designed specifically to meet the requirements of 45 older people with nursing care needs.

Speaking on her appointment, registered nurse Laura, says: "I am really pleased to be part of a team providing care to frail older people in the area.

My expertise is in caring for the elderly and I am looking forward to the challenges of getting the new home up and running.

"We're really keen to make the home part of the local community.

We are planning a number of events so that local people can view the new home and meet some of the older people who will be living there." Heathbook House is a 'lifestyle' home offering features such us underfloor heating, en-suite facilities, flat-screen televisions and a DVD player in all bedrooms.

It also includes a telephone system that enables residents to make and receive personal telephone calls from the comfort of their own bedrooms.

The home also has attractively landscaped gardens.

Once the building is complete, the home will have an open-door policy, so that residents' friends and family can visit at any time.

A launch event will take place later this year and a Christmas Fair is planned for December.
