look with champagne celebration
Local care home, Dene Place is marking its ?334,000 makeover in style this Tuesday with a celebratory champagne afternoon event, complete with strawberries and a live jazz band.

Occasion: Celebratory champagne afternoon event with the Mayor of Guilford Borough to mark the refurbishment of the care home following investment by Bupa.
Joining in the celebrations will be the Mayor of Guilford Borough, Councillor Jennifer Jordan, who has been invited to help open the newly renovated care home and enjoy the afternoon of live music with the residents, relatives and staff of Dene Place.
Thanks to funding from Bupa, the care home now provides residents with the latest in entertainment technology, such as broadband internet connection and plasma televisions with free view in every bedroom.
The top-to-toe makeover has transformed the outdoor patio, all communal areas and bedrooms, which have been individually designed with new soft furnishings, telephone points, 24 hour nurse call systems and electronically controlled beds.
Dene Place's home manager, Tracy Manzi said: "We are delighted with the way Dene Place looks.
It is great to be able to provide our residents with the latest technology and the new patio has also been a real hit! We are looking forward to celebrating the home's new look with residents and their friends and family on Tuesday and it is fantastic that the Mayor will be helping us mark our special event." The refurbishment has been part of Bupa's multi-million pound drive to improve the standards for older people in the UK home care sector.
