"A quarter of British households are without home contents insurance* and many simply underestimate the real replacement value of their countless expensive gadgets.
We would urge homeowners to reassess their insurance needs on a regular basis, particularly during the Christmas period when homes are full of expensive items."Direct Line's Home Insurance policy includes an automatic increase of £5,000 or 10% of the sum insured (whichever is greater) for several weeks either side of Christmas, from 1st December to 15th January.
