Direct Line Home Insurance comments on
the launch of the new iPhone

Carmel McCarthy, Spokesperson for Direct Line Home Insurance comments on the launch of the new iPhone this Friday:

"The iPhone will be at the top of thousands of people's wish-lists this Christmas with 200,000 phones expected to fly off the shelves over the next few weeks "With a price tag of £269, opportunist thieves looking for items to easily steal from the home need look no further, which is why it is essential that homeowners have adequate cover in place to protect their contents against theft or accidental damage

"A quarter of British households are without home contents insurance* and many simply underestimate the real replacement value of their countless expensive gadgets.

We would urge homeowners to reassess their insurance needs on a regular basis, particularly during the Christmas period when homes are full of expensive items."Direct Line's Home Insurance policy includes an automatic increase of £5,000 or 10% of the sum insured (whichever is greater) for several weeks either side of Christmas, from 1st December to 15th January.
