Direct Line is kicking off 2010 with two offers to help customers save money, with discounts on car and home insurance.

Those looking to save on car insurance can get 52 days worth of free cover when buying a new policy, as well as benefiting from up to 65% off as a No Claims Discount.

There are also savings to be had on home insurance, with 12 months for the price of 9 on buildings, contents, and combined policies.

Customers purchasing new home insurance policies will also receive a free home emergency policy to cover call-outs, parts and labour in the event of an emergency in the home involving plumbing and drainage, electrical wiring, security or pests.
