Family Investments responds to FSA plans for a 'Parent's Guide to Money'
Miles Bingham, Head of Savings and Investments, said: "Family Investments welcomes the news that the Financial Services Authority plans to provide guidance to new parents on financial matters.
As patron of the Tree Appeal and life-long campaigner for the environment, David Bellamy will join the Brighton based school to celebrate those parents who chose to have a tree planted when they opened their child's ethical CTF.
By planting the trees, the children will learn that similar to saving money, making small changes to your everyday lifestyle can have a measurable, long-term impact.
The popularity of Family's ethical CTF shows that eco-conscious parents are just as concerned about the long-term sustainability of the planet as they are about their child's financial future.

John Reeve, Chief Executive of Family Investments said:
One year from launch, thousands of parents have already opened Family's ethical CTF - of which 60 per cent are already dedicated to topping-up on a monthly basis.
According to HMRC, however, only 23 per cent of parents with normal stakeholder CTF accounts top them up on a regular basis.
Speaking at the event, David Bellamy enthused: andquot; It is great to see parents and children at the Dorothy Stringer School getting to grips with the new 4 R's, part of the curriculum in every day life.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Replant - real ethical investments for all our futures.
David Bellamy added, "Family's Ethical CTF is now part of the team providing valuable support to the Tree Appeal and it is great to welcome them onboard."The advantages of opting for Family's ethical CTF are clear.
As Family's ethical fund screens out companies that fail to meet its ethical criteria1, parents' worries on how they are investing their child's money are put to rest.
Already, Family's ethical CTF is proving successful - it has enjoyed an 11.3 per cent growth in the last 12 months and is one of the market's best performing stakeholder funds2.
Family's ethical CTF option is also the only actively managed ethical fund available within a low-charge stakeholder wrapper.Miles Bingham, Marketing Director at Family Investments, said, "In its first year, Family's ethical CTF has already proved a growing success.
Response has not only been strong, but parents are proactively topping-up their child's CTF on a more regular basis - creating a long-term investment for their children that does not come at the cost of the planet."Miles Bingham also added, "By making small changes, like opening an ethical CTF, we can make a measurable difference to the future of our world.
Just as we look after our young ones' futures, so too must we look after our environment.".
