HSA has stepped up its environmental activity following growing concerns about the environment.

Although HSA became proactive in the environmental arena some time ago, the company has developed new and ongoing initiatives to help play its part in preventing climate change.

HSA is currently piloting emission friendly vehicles, like the Honda Civic Hybrid, and is hoping to introduce the vehicle as an option for its company car users.

Mark Bradbury, Fleet Manager for HSA says, "With a rapidly expanding fleet of company cars it's become increasingly important for HSA to take steps to help combat the effect these vehicles have on the environment.

Over three years ago HSA made the decision to reduce CO2 emissions by moving to a diesel only solution".

"The result of this move is that the average CO2 output of HSA's fleet has already been reduced from 177g/km per vehicle to 152.8g/km".

"By keeping on top of developments such as the Civic, we cam focus on continuing to cut down on carbon emissions further and do our bit for the environment.

And the company's attempts to reduce carbon emissions don't end there - HSA are even testing an electric car in a bid to reduce pollution in the local area.

The car is powered solely by rechargeable batteries and is used for shuttle runs between the three HSA offices.

Mark Bradbury says, "It's important that businesses look at how they can help prevent damage to the environment in all of their day to day practices".

"Although HSA is working hard to prevent further damage to the environment, every business needs to be more aware of environmental issues and take action if we are to stop climate change.
