moneysupermarket.com comment on Virgin Media announcement of free landline to mobile calls
Commenting on Virgin Media's announcement today, Mike Wilson, manager of mobiles and broadband at moneysupermarket.com said:
"Virgin Media is the first provider in the UK to offer free landline to mobile calls from the 1st April and, although the deal only includes calls to Virgin mobiles, the offer provides good value to existing Virgin Media customers and a good incentive to switch for those looking for a new deal.
"For Brits who currently have separate providers for TV, landline and broadband, the offer of free landline calls to Virgin mobiles is a good incentive to bundle your services to a Virgin package - providing you have the need to make calls to Virgin mobiles.
Even if you don't, bundling with one provider can still result in big savings of almost GBP130 a year compared to standalone products.
"It will be interesting to see if other landline providers follow suit as the market becomes more competitive, particularly following the news Talk Talk has just announced plans to launch TV and mobile services on-top of it's existing broadband and landline offerings.
