moneysupermarket.com comments on the loss of 370,000 customer details by banking giant HSBC
Commenting on the loss of 370,000 customer details by banking giant HSBC, Kevin Mountford, head of savings at price comparison site moneysupermarket.com, said:
"For a bank that prides itself on first class service this is unforgivable - it also doesn't do anything to re-build confidence amongst consumers at a time when the banking sector is heavily tarnished following a series of high profile mishaps and blunders." "Whilst HSBC have publicly stated that the possibility of any fraudulent activity against customers as a result of this loss is limited, there is still a risk to these so people must now be even more vigilant, regularly checking their accounts online, requesting mini-statements at the ATM and going through their statements with a fine toothcomb.
"If anyone sees even the smallest irregularity, they should report it immediately to HSBC.".
