moneysupermarket.com comments on the FSA's ongoing review of comparison sites
Commenting on the FSA's ongoing review of comparison sites, Richard Mason, managing director of moneysupermarket.com, said:
"It is encouraging to see most price comparison sites are treating customers fairly in terms of clarity and openness and the FSA deems no further action needs to be taken.
The consumer is key and moneysupermarket.com fully supports any recommendations designed to help enhance the consumer's knowledge and understanding.
"Consumers know if you use a comparison site to obtain an insurance quote they cover not only the brokers but also most of the direct insurers too.
That is why upwards of two-thirds of people are using comparison sites to find their home and motor insurance.
In addition, any searches conducted on our site not only show price but other information relevant to the consumer including excesses and exclusions.
We are already ahead of the curve with our acclaimed 'Consumer Forum' and 'Ask the Expert' facility".
"moneysupermarket.com is already regulated in some areas by the FSA and has a strong compliance department.
We will continue to work closely with the FSA on this matter and believe we are ideally placed to do so as the UK's number one comparison site".
