Scottish Widows has announced the appointment of Robert Kerr to the newly created role of Head of Distribution Development.
Reporting to Peter Hendry, sales and distribution director, Robert will be responsible for the analysis and assessment of current and future market trends and giving direction to ensure that corporate aims and objectives are aligned with key business partners in both the intermediary channel and within the Lloyds TSB network.
A key part of the role will be developing the Scottish Widows response to the FSA Distribution Review.
Robert joined Scottish Widows from Grant Thornton in 2001, and his previous roles include Corporate Finance Manager, Strategy Consultant and Commercial Manager on a wide range of internal and external projects.
Peter Hendry, sales and distribution director at Scottish Widows, said: "It gives me great pleasure to welcome Robert into this new role".
"Robert will play a significant part in ensuring that the correct focus is given to our current and future distribution strategies".
"The creation of this new role marks an important development in the sales and distribution function at Scottish Widows." Robert Kerr commented: "I am delighted to take on this new and challenging role within Scottish Widows".
"Scottish Widows has a well developed multi-channel distribution capability and a strong desire to grow both volume and profitability across all channels".
"The timing of this role could not be better, given the launch of the FSA Distribution Review and the potential opportunities and challenges this regulatory development will provide across the manufacturing and distribution sectors.".
