Ray Greenshields Appointed to Board of Standard Life Assurance Limited

Standard Life Assurance Limited has appointed Ray Greenshields to the Board of the company as a non-executive director with effect from 1 March 2007.

Mr Greenshields has enjoyed a wide-ranging career in financial services both in the UK and Australia with AMP, Zurich Financial Services and Barclays Bank.

He ultimately held the position of Managing Director at Barclays Wealth Management from 2003-2006.

Commenting on the appointment, Lord Blackwell, Chairman of Standard Life Assurance Limited said: "Ray will be an excellent addition to the Board of Standard Life Assurance Limited and I expect him to contribute greatly to the company's development in the coming years".

"His substantial experience in the industry as a Chief Executive and at Board level has given him a deep knowledge of investment, wealth management, protection business and the distribution of financial services."
