Standard Life has updated the critical
illness definitions in line with the ABI
regulatory changes

Although the definitions have been updated to meet those set out by the ABI, for the conditions listed below Standard Life will exceed the ABI definition:

Alzheimer's disease - resulting in permanent symptoms Aorta graft surgery - for disease Benign brain tumour - resulting in permanent symptoms or surgical removal For the other definitions, Standard Life's definition will be identical to the ABI definition These changes will affect new customers

For current customers, alterations or options under existing plans where there is an increase in risk will result in the application of the new definitions.
