SLI scoops 'Active UK Equity Manager of the year' award

Standard Life Investments today announced its win of the 'Active UK Equity Manager of the Year' title at last night's Pension and Investment Provider Awards (PIPA) 2007.

The awards were held at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London, and were attended by over 300 investment professionals.

Drawn from a short-list of candidates*, SLI was selected by a panel of industry experts looking to reward the performance, innovation, service standards and competitive edge of UK occupational pension scheme providers.

Standard Life Investments was also short-listed under the 'UK Property Investment Provider' category.

David Cumming, Head of UK Equities at Standard Life Investments, said; "2006 was another positive year for our UK Equity team.

We have continued to build up a record of excellence in UK equity investment across the full range of performance strategies.

The Standard Life Investments' UK Equity Unconstrained Pooled Pension Fund provides an excellent example of recent performance driven by the UK Equity desk.

Launched in September 2005, the fund is ranked number one out of 283 funds in its sector, has returned 35% for the twelve months of 2006 and has been top decile since launch (Morningstar for the period to 7/05/07) .

Other UK Equity Awards for 2006/2007: In April 2007, SLI won the 'Specialist Manager of the Year (UK Equities) award at the UK Pensions Awards 2007.

In February 2007, SLI scooped 'Best Overall Group Award' in the 'UK Equity Large' category at the Lipper Fund Awards.

In October 2006, Standard Life Investments won 'UK Equity Manager of the Year' at the Financial News 'Awards for Excellence in Institutional Asset Management - Europe 2006'.
