Standard Life Investments (SLI), the global investment manager, today announced the appointment of Glen Petraglia as Senior Vice President - US Equities,

With Mr Petraglia's appointment, SLI now has a team of 10 US equity analysts based in Boston.

Together the team manages approximately $7bn in assets under management (as at 03.31.08).

SLI USA was launched in 2002 to increase Standard Life Investments' coverage of the US equity market and to provide US investors with access to its private equity, global equity, real estate and absolute return strategies.

Commenting on the appointment, Steve Weeple said: "We are delighted that Glen has agreed to join our team, and are excited about the insights he will bring.

Glen has been a lead analyst at Citigroup for the last three years, and has developed a depth of knowledge and understanding within the consumer sector that we believe will be of enormous benefit to the portfolios we manage.

He has strong relationships with management teams in the sector, as well as an acute perspective of what drives investors' perceptions towards these stocks.

"Glen's appointment continues the build out of our US equity team with high caliber individuals, and underscores our ability to attract and retain strong investment talent.".
