uSwitch responds to BT statement
Steve Weller, Head of Communications Services at independent price comparison and switching service uSwitch.com, comments:
"In response to BT's press statement we attach a copy of the letter currently being received by BT's home phone customers, which shows our press release to be entirely accurate.
This letter clearly states that these new charges will be introduced as 'Changes to Conditions From 01/05/2007.' "If BT has indeed reversed its decision to introduce any of the charges we have highlighted, we welcome this; however it is imperative that they inform their customers in writing of this turnaround as a matter of urgency, as well as making a public announcement.
"We reject the claims made against uSwitch by John Petter.
Consumers can be assured that our service is accurate and impartial.
We are completely transparent about having commercial relationships in place and are independent of all the companies we represent.
These commercial relationships in no way influence how we present data on our website.
"We are always looking to represent the best interests of the consumer and will not shy away from talking about the introduction of charges, poor pricing and bad customer service, where it is justifiable to do so.".
